Job Description - The Category Manager position is a sales oriented position requiring focus on sales, retail insights and category solutions necessary to grow the customer's beer category as well as expanding Central States Beverage Company's portfolio via the space and assortment available in our retail accounts. We are seeking a self-motivated, organized and results driven individual to represent our portfolio of brands and Central States Beverage Company in a professional manner. This position will combine field sales as well as office work needed to identify, develop and sell in cooler set projects in our off premise retail accounts in Missouri and Kansas.
This position looks at account opportunities by leveraging multiple data sources and shopper insights along with a deep understanding of the total Beverage Alcohol category and the current retail environment. The Category Manager's role requires excellent communication skills that will be used not only with the retail customers but also in a working relationship with the Central States Sales team as well as the suppliers we represent. Through project management and plan-o-gram creation this person will sell in and implement individual and chain group set projects from start to finish.
The Quality Control portion of the position requires field and office work as well and consumes about 15% of this position's work load. Requirements include completion of audits in 25 or more accounts per month to ensure our product freshness codes are being upheld in our market.
•Bachelors Degree encouraged but not required.
•Previous sales experience encouraged but not required.
•Strong MS Office skills specifically with Excel, Word and Power Point. (JDA Space Planning skill training will be provided after hire)
•Understands tools and techniques to merchandise and market products at retail.
